In this introduction to what OnStar® is, we will briefly explain the core group of services that this feature can offer to, should you decide to buy or lease a new Chevy vehicle equipped with it. The first service you get with OnStar® concerns emergencies. By pressing the OnStar® button in your car the next time you get into trouble or danger, you can request immediate help from law enforcement, paramedics, and other lifesaving groups. The second service is security, which refers to how your OnStar® system can actively outsmart and deter criminals who would commit vehicle theft. The third service you get with OnStar® is navigation, such as turn-by-turn directions to help you conveniently and safely arrive at your destination. The fourth service, meanwhile, is mobile connectivity. In other words, your car's OnStar® feature can become a 4G LTE or Wi-Fi hotspot1, as the image on the right demonstrates. And, lastly, the fifth OnStar® service is vehicle management, a category that includes the ability to locate your vehicle, get a dealer maintenance alert, or even run an on-demand diagnostics check. How about a non-emergency example, such as you visited the shopping mall in Aurora and ended up locking your keys in your car or forgetting where you parked in that giant parking lot. Luckily, you have the mobile app for OnStar®, which can connect you with an Advisor who can send a locksmith, or it can communicate with the device in your vehicle to identify you of where your parking spot is.
